Award-winning Filipino films to hit big screens in UAE

Dubai: Four award-winning Filipino films will be screened at cinemas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on November 25 to 26 as part of the first Philippine Film Festival in the UAE.
The film festival is organised by Kitsch Company in partnership with the Movie Workers Welfare Fund (Mowelfund), a Philippine-based organisation of actors and film industry workers founded by former Philippine president Joseph Estrada.
The event will also feature workshops with Mowelfund executive director Boots Anson-Roa and actor and director Soxie Topacio as resource speakers.
Kitsch Company aims to highlight Filipino tradition and culture through films.

The Celebration of the 111st Phillipine Independence Day in Dubai was successful according to the FilCom officers and Executive community who organized the events. They said successful because they raise fund for the benefits of our distress OFW here in Dubai.

Preparations on for 111th? Independence Day

The Philippine Independence Day (PID) Executive Committee is preparing for the 111th Philippine Independence Day Celebration to be held on June 12 at the Al Nasr Leisureland.
Arrangements are under way by the committee’s head Dante Delizo, with the cooperation of more than 40 Filipino Community organisations in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
The event will coincide with the 3rd Migrant Workers Day, which will be conducted in the morning after the flag-raising ceremony at the Philippine Consulate General in Al Ghusais.
