LIFPG – Dubai 9th Environmental Awareness Photo Competition

Lightform International Filipino Photographers Guild – Dubai announced its 9th Environmental Awareness Photo Competition

Theme: Community: Caring for Nature

JUDGING CRITERIA

40% Creativity/Composition significance to theme, innovation & originality)

30% Theme Relevance

30% Technical Excellence (technique/lighting & exposure)

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS

1) FREE Photo Entry. Participants will be asked to fill-out the Registration Form. Invitation Card will be given to each participant per Photo Entry to attend the Awarding Night.

2) All entries should be individually submitted in an envelope, enclosed with the following requirements:

· both digital & analog – Print entry with a size of 8×10 inches or A4 size with a title attached at the back.

· duly filled up entry form;

· digital format save on a CD in JPEG format with the following:

i. low resolution-100 dpi & high resolution-300 dpi

ii. Image Size – A5

· CD must be properly labeled with participant’s name, picture title and file name of the entry

3) Final judging and winners will be announced during the Awarding Night on

5th November 2010, (Fri), 7:00 PM at Burjuman Center, Bur Dubai.

COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

1) Competition is open to all amateur photographers of UAE residents only.

2) Competition is equally open to Film and Digital. Participants can submit maximum of 2 photo entries in either of both categories. Winners are required to furnish high resolution e-format for authentication purposes.

3) Receiving of entries will start from 1st August and deadline will be on 15th October 2010. LIFPG will not accept any responsibility for delayed damaged or incomplete entries.

4) However, the final and last week of (because it has mentioned that they can submit an entry starting August 1) submission will be accepted on below venue, scheduled date & time:

· Venue: BurJuman Center – Level 2, Bur Dubai

· Date: 10th to 15th October 2010

· Time: 5pm to 9pm only

5) Photograph must be your own and has not been published anywhere or sold to a third party, used for any commercial purpose or won in any previous competition, otherwise entry will be disqualified.

6) All entries should be taken within the United Arab Emirates only. (Entries proven not taken within UAE will automatically be disqualified. I think no need for this clause as the first condition is understood).

7) Print entry & CDs are non-returnable and will remain the properties of LIFPG-D. (or, The winning photographs and CD’s become the property of LIFPG-D.
Images (Photographs) considered by the committee to be excessively controversial, profane or violent will not be accepted for judging.

9) The Judges’ decision will be final and binding.

10) Judges, Sponsors, LIFPG Officers and their family members are not eligible to join this competition.

11) LIFPG-D reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
